Setting up my Azure test environment


  1. Download the Azure PowerShell cmdlets, available through the Web Platform Installer
  2. Set up a connection to Azure
    1. In Powershell: Get-AzurePublishSettingsFile
    2. Import-AzurePublishSettingsFile -PublishSettingsFile C:\Mundy\My-Azure-Creds.publishsettings
  3. Created Lab1

Create DC1

  1. Created dc1 in Azure
  2. Set it to static IP address:
    Select-AzureRmSubscription "Visual Studio Enterprise – MPN"

    Name ResourceGroupName

  3. Logged in to dc1 via RDP
  4. sconfig
    1. Set the timezone
  5. Set up the domain
    Install-WindowsFeature AD-Domain-Services -IncludeManagementTools
    Install-ADDSForest -DomainName
